Casillas ‘can leave Madrid in 2015’

Iker Casillas has a pact with Florentino Perez that will allow him to leave Real Madrid on a free transfer at the end of the season.

AS claims that the goalkeeper wanted to go this year but the President convinced him to stay for at least another year. But to get Casillas to remain at Santiago Bernabeu, Perez had to agree to let him go in 12 months.

Casillas will be 34 by that point and in line for the last big contract of his career and it appears he will sign it somewhere other than the capital.

It’s said that Casillas is not in a good place mentally after making a mistake in the Champions League final that nearly cost Madrid La Decima, and it was that which led to his errors in the World Cup as Spain crashed out at the group stage.

Casillas is also said to feel there is a section of the Madrid support that has taken against him.

Madrid are in line to sign Keylor Navas from Levante and the Costa Rica international is to provide Casillas’ main competition for the coming season, according to AS.
