However, the Daily Express believe that Jose Mourinho’s men have finally opted to cut their losses and pay the release clause.
The 28-year-old is thought to be arriving in London shortly for a medical at Stamford Bridge.
Filipe Luis will join Atleti teammates Thibaut Courtois and Diego Costa in the English capital next term.
