Di Maria to PSG held up by FFP

Angel Di Maria’s proposed move from Real Madrid to Paris Saint-Germain has been delayed by Financial Fair Play.

Marca reports that the Ligue 1 champions need to sell before they can buy, having already fallen foul of UEFA’s financial regulations.

PSG were limited to a €50m outlay this summer and have already spent it on David Luiz, signing the Brazil international from Chelsea.

A €60m fee has been agreed for Di Maria and while PSG have already allowed some players to leave, they’re not close to generating the kind of income they need to sign the Argentina international.

Madrid will move for James Rodriguez in Di Maria’s exit is confirmed, although Carlo Ancelotti could yet intervene to keep Di Maria at Santiago Bernabeu, as he did 12 months ago.
