Barcelona back in training

Life under Luis Enrique has begun for a number of the Barcelona squad as pre-season training commences today.

Barca’s official website has confirmed that many of the players are back at the club, working for the first time under Enrique, appointed at the end of the season to replace Tata Martino.

There are 11 members of the first team being put through their paces – new signing Marc-Andre Ter Stegen joined by the likes of Martin Montoya, Marc Bartra and Adriano.

Bojan, who is said to be free to leave La Blaugrana, is back at the club after a series of loan spells.

Rafinha and Gerard Deulofeu, both returned to Barca after loan spells at Celta Vigo and Everton respectively, are also present. There are also 12 players from the youth teams involved.

Medical tests are the first order of the day, to take place at Ciudad Deportivo, while the hard work begins tomorrow.

Enrique is to run double sessions, at 9am and 7pm, while the club’s World Cup players will gradually return to the club as the summer progresses.
