Valencia have again turned down an offer from Barcelona for captain Jeremy Mathieu, reports in Spain say.
Mundo Deportivo claim there was a meeting between higher-ups from both clubs at which Los Che sporting director turned down another bid for the Frenchman.
Valencia insist Mathieu won’t leave for less than the €20m stipulated by his release clause, whereas Barca hoped to have the signing completed in the coming week.
Rufete however stressed that Mathieu is counted on by new Valencia Coach Nuno, and Barca’s offer of €15m has thus far not been enough to convince President Amadeo Salvo to part with the versatile Mathieu.
