Marca has today reported that James Rodriguez’s move to Real Madrid is closer after Monaco dropped their asking price.
It’s claimed that the Ligue 1 club initially wanted €115m for the Colombia international but after talks between all parties, that figure has come down to €85m.
James doesn’t have a release clause in his contract and Madrid first thought they’d have to pay €75m to get the forward.
Monaco last year paid Porto €45m for James and after a good year in the principality and a starring role at the World Cup, his price has skyrocketed.
But Madrid feel James is an ideal signing and will push out the boat to complete the transfer this summer.
