Di Maria ‘close to PSG’

Angel Di Maria is said to be close to leaving Real Madrid for Paris Saint-Germain after a meeting of the club’s senior figures.

AS reports that Madrid President Florentino Perez and his PSG counterpart, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, met on Friday, with the Argentina midfielder high on the agenda.

The discussion took place in Madrid and it’s expected that PSG will pay €60m for Di Maria, with the deal to be confirmed shortly.

Manchester United were also said to be interested but Di Maria wants to go to France, leaving the Premier League side to explore the possibility of signing Arturo Vidal.

Once Di Maria is a PSG player, Madrid will focus their attention on Monaco’s James Rodriguez, with the money received from PSG to be put towards the deal for the Colombia international.
