Line-ups: Brazil-Netherlands

Thiago Silva is back to partner David Luiz in the centre of Brazil’s defence as they face Netherlands in the World Cup third-place play-off.

The captain returns from suspension to lead the Selecao in their final match of this tournament in Brasilia.

Fred though – the scapegoat for their 7-1 loss to Germany – has been dropped in favour of Jo, with Willian coming in for Bernard and Maxwell for Marcelo.

Louis van Gaal meanwhile has kept changes to a minimum despite complaining about the fact his side had to play this match.

Jordi Clasie comes in for Nigel de Jong, but Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder and Robin van Persie all keep their places from the penalty loss to Argentina in the semi-final.

Brazil: Julio Cesar, Thiago Silva (c), David Luiz, Paulinho, Oscar, Maxwell, Ramires, Luis Gustavo, Willian, Jo, Maicon

Netherlands: Cillessen ; Kuyt, De Vrij, Vlaar, Martins Indi, Blind ; Clasie, Wijnaldum, Sneijder ; Van Persie, Robben.
