€35m to re-sign Morata

Real Madrid and Juventus have come to an agreement over the transfer of Alvaro Morata, the striker to move for €18m on a four-year deal.

AS reports that a buy-back clause has been included in the transfer and should Madrid want to exercise it in the next three years, they will have to pay €35m, almost twice the amount they are receiving from the Italian champions.

Morata’s move to Turin will go ahead once Madrid and Morata have agreed a new contract to come into effect should he return to Santiago Bernabeu.

His current deal expires next summer but a five-year extension based on his time at Juventus is in the works and once finalised, Morata will be allowed to join Juve, in a repeat of the conditions of Dani Carvajal’s move to Bayer Leverkusen.

Madrid would have preferred Morata to join Wolfsburg or Villarreal, sides where he would play regularly and not be a threat in the Champions League.

But Morata always wanted to go to Serie A and Juventus have suggested to Madrid that Morata will get playing time, convincing Madrid to let the youth team product complete the move.
