Victor Valdes’ proposed move to Monaco will not go ahead, the club’s Vice-president has confirmed.
Valdes was expected to join the Ligue 1 outfit this summer after leaving Barcelona upon the end of his contract, but Mundo Deportivo has reported Vadim Vasilyev as telling a Press conference that the deal has been scrapped due to the knee injury the goalkeeper suffered in March.
“Valdes is injured and cannot come,” Vasilyev said.
The Spain international was in Monaco this week for medical tests and now has to consider his options after the breakdown of the move to the principality.
