Di Maria to quit Madrid?

Angel Di Maria could look to quit Real Madrid as he feels unappreciated by Los Blancos despite his performances last season.

Marca claim that Di Maria laid down the gauntlet to Madrid prior to the World Cup and asked the club to show him how highly they value him after he played a key role in winning the Champions League.

But Madrid have yet to offer Di Maria the improved contract he was looking for and the Argentina international has come to the belief that he’ll never get what he feels is his deserved reward from his employers.

Carlo Ancelotti has been in contact with Di Maria during the World Cup, as he has all Madrid’s internationals, and hopes Di Maria agrees to stay at Santiago Bernabeu.

The Coach is said to recognise the importance of the former Benfica man in balancing the Madrid XI, with Marca noting that Di Maria does the hard work for the front three of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.

But if Di Maria is insistent on leaving, he could be available for around €50m, €20m more than Madrid paid four years ago, and there are expected to be a number of suitors for his signature if the situation deteriorates to that point.
