Angel Di Maria has insisted that Argentina deserved to beat Switzerland and progress to the World Cup quarter-finals.
The Real Madrid man netted in extra time to give the Albicelestes a 1-0 win over Ottmar Hitzfeld’s men in Sao Paulo.
And the forward has claimed that his side gave their all to make the last eight.
“We gave everything out there,” he told reporters after the game.
“We left our heart and soul on the pitch.
“We were always in the game and we never gave up for a minute.
“I think because of that we deserved to win.”
