Herrera: Everything against Mexico

Mexico Coach Miguel Herrera believes everything went against his side following their 2-1 Round of 16 defeat to Holland.

The Central Americans were leading until the 88th minute, but Wesley Sneijder equalised and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar’s penalty then won it for the Dutch in stoppage time.

Speaking after the final whistle in Fortaleza, the tactician was furious with the late spot kick awarded against his team.

“It was a World Cup in which everything was against Mexico from the start,” Herrera said. “He [Robben] threw himself to the floor three times and no one said anything to him.

“After going 1-0 up the team retreated and that cost us. Thanks for the support, but we weren’t able to achieve the objective.

“We made a mistake for the first goal because we left someone unmarked. We have done a good job.”
