Bravo laments penalty loss

Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has spoken of his disappointment after Chile lost on penalties to Brazil.

La Roja went out to the hosts after a 1-1 draw and Bravo said after the match that his side could have won it, but believes they proved what they are capable of even in defeat.

“A thousand things have gone through my head. We always try to win the game but we went to penalties and it couldn’t be,” AS reports the Chile captain as saying.

“We wanted to show at the World Cup that we are a super national team.

“We feel so helpless because we were able to settle the game long before the end. We had chances. We said we could win this game, thought about it, and showed it was true.

“I don’t know if it was unfair we lost but we were better than Brazil, who were much more physical.

“I want to thank my teammates who made a huge effort and have a lot of injuries and physical problems that haven’t been known.

“We wanted to show that we have a great team and we love this shirt and we will fight for it every time we put it on.”
