Giggs pleased by Herrera signing

Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs has welcomed Spain midfielder Ander Herrera to Old Trafford.

Herrera is to complete his move to the Premier League club from Athletic Bilbao after his contractual release clause was triggered, with Herrera already posing for pictures as a United player.

Giggs, who retired at the end of the season and was named assistant to Louis van Gaal, told United’s official website that the signing of the 24-year-old is a good move.

“Ander is a fantastic young player, with great energy and creativity,” Giggs said.

“We believe him to be one of the brightest young prospects in Spain and I am certain he will be a big hit with the United fans.

“I’m delighted he has made the decision to come to Manchester and play his part in the club’s future.”
