Real Sociedad’s Antoine Griezmann has welcomed news of Carlos Vela’s new contract at the club but said little of his own future.
La Real this week confirmed that Vela was to stay at Anoeta after the club bought out Arsenal’s stake in the Mexican forward.
Griezmann, currently on World Cup duty with France, said, according to Mundo Deportivo, that Vela’s continuation is a positive development.
He did however evade the question as to his future, preferring to put that topic off for another time.
“I know we renewed Carlitos and that’s excellent for La Real,” the France international said.
“For me personally he’s a great player that fits in very well with the team and plays for others.
“Now I don’t have to talk about [my future]. We’ll see.”
Griezmann has also backed Claudio Bravo upon his switch to Barcelona, rating the Chile international as ‘perfect’ for Camp Nou.
