Real Madrid could move for Real Sociedad midfielder Ruben Pardo, according to reports from Spain.

Mundo Deportivo claim that Pardo is well-liked by Carlo Ancelotti and could be the player Los Blancos turn to if they get a negative reply from Toni Kroos.

Pardo renewed his deal at Anoeta in May, extending through to 2018 with a €30m release clause.

The 21-year-old has entered Madrid’s thoughts due to doubts over a number of midfielders currently on the books, including the injuries of Sami Khedira, who has also been linked with a move away by the British Press.

Casemiro, meanwhile, has yet to fully convince Ancelotti, while Xabi Alonso will need replacing in the near future.

Pardo’s former La Real teammate, Asier Illarramendi, who made the same move a year ago, hasn’t completely settled at Santiago Bernabeu either, leading Madrid to seek another midfielder this summer.
