Cordoba promoted to Primera

A goal from Uli Davila sent Cordoba into the Primera Division for the first time in 42 years at the expense of Las Palmas.

The play-off final second-leg ended 1-1 in Gran Canaria and saw Albert Ferrer’s side promoted on away goals after the first-leg finished goalless.

Marca reports the match was sullied by a pitch invasion from the home supporters minutes before the final whistle, with the fans eager to celebrate what appeared to be a victory for their side. But after play restarted, Davila cancelled out Apono’s opening goal with only seconds to go.

Los Califas join Eibar and Deportivo La Coruna in next season’s top flight.
