Mbia: Difficult to stay at Sevilla

Stephane Mbia has said he is unlikely to remain with Sevilla next season as he wants to play in the Champions League.

The Cameroon midfielder spent last year on loan at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan from Queens Park Rangers and says that while he enjoyed his time under Unai Emery, he doesn’t see his future there.

“I have the utmost respect for Sevilla but it will be difficult for me to stay because I want to play at the highest level and try to win the Champions League,” AS reports the 28-year-old as saying.

“My dream is to be coached by Jose Mourinho, because I think he is a great Coach.”

Mbia is currently representing his country and the World Cup and with Cameroon unable to get out of Group A, wants the Indomitable Lions to play for pride against Brazil tomorrow.

“It’s pride as an African and for Cameroon,” he continued. “We must improve our image and not do as we did in 2010, when we ended with no points.”
