Mundo Deportivo claim they have been told the playmaker is to depart Camp Nou and the decision will be confirmed in the very near future.
Spain’s early World Cup exit has accelerated the announcement as Xavi was originally going to decide his future a few weeks after La Roja’s participation in the tournament was at an end.
MD point out that Xavi will be the third Barca captain to leave this summer, as Carles Puyol has retired and Victor Valdes’ contract is to expire, with the goalkeeper still expected to join Monaco.
