‘Cesc a major loss for Barca’

Xavi Hernandez has wished Cesc Fabergas well at Chelsea after it was confirmed the Spain midfielder was to leave Barcelona.

Speaking at a Press conference prior to La Roja’s World Cup opener against the Netherlands, Xavi conceded that if Cesc felt he needed to leave Camp Nou, it is for the best that he has done so.

“It’s great news for him. He’s happy, I see that he’s happy,” Xavi said, according to AS.

“He’s found a great team. Maybe he’s calmer now.

“It’s a major loss to Barcelona. But it’s his future and this is what he’s decided. I wish him well. All the luck in the world.”

Xavi also launched an impassioned defence of Spain’s style of play, insisting they would ‘win or die’ with it.
