Rakitic: Barca a dream come true

Ivan Rakitic has hinted his move to Barcelona is getting close as he said the dream of playing for the club is coming true.

The Sevilla captain is expected to move to Camp Nou for next summer and Sport reports a brief comment from Rakitic over the proposed transfer.

Rakitic is currently in Brazil with the Croatia national team, preparing for the opening game of the World Cup tomorrow, when Niko Kovac’s side will meet the hosts.

Kovac has cordoned his players off from the outside world for the tournament – including from their families and friends – but Rakitic was allowed to briefly speak with the Catalonian Press.

“I’m excited. It’s a dream come true,” was what the Swiss-born midfielder had to say about the prospect of joining Barca.

Rakitic’s international colleague Luka Modric has also said that he wishes Rakitic was joining him at Real Madrid instead.
