Ramos to get new Madrid deal

Sergio Ramos will be offered a new contract by Real Madrid that will make him the club’s third-highest paid player.

Marca reports that the terms of the defender’s renewed deal will see him moved behind only Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale in the wage stakes, a reflection of Ramos’ importance at the club.

Ramos will be paid something in the region of €10m, close to Bale’s pay packet, with Madrid looking to tie down Ramos for the rest of his career.

The Spain international scored a number of crucial goals for Madrid last season, including two against Bayern Munich in Munich in the Champions League semi-final, and an injury time equaliser in the final itself against Atletico Madrid, setting up Los Blancos’ 4-1 win and 10th European Cup.
