Morata ‘to follow Carvajal model’

A confident of Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has said Alvaro Morata could follow the example of Dani Carvajal if he moves to Juventus.

Morata has been linked with a switch to the Serie A champions, Marca reports, and Ernesto Bronzetti, an ally of Perez, confirmed talks between the clubs were on-going.

“The process is underway but I expect it will be a long negotiation,” Bronzetti told Tuttosport.

“Negotiations are for the Carvajal model. Madrid could re-sign him in a year.”

Carvajal was sold to Bayer Leverkusen in 2012, spending a year in the Bundesliga before Madrid repatriated the right-back.

Bronzetti, said by Marca to have played a role in Madrid’s hiring of Carlo Ancelotti, added that the deal won’t be done unless Madrid can identify a replacement.

“Untilt here’s a substitute, Morata won’t leave Madrid,” Bronzetti confirmed.

Morata is said to have 11 offers from various clubs but Juventus’ is the most attractive, particularly since La Vecchia Signora offer Champions League football.
