Bravo: Barca an important step

Real Sociedad goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has said his proposed move to Barcelona is a pivotal moment in his career.

The Chile international is understood to be high on La Blaugrana’s wanted list for this summer as Barca search for a back-up to and rival for Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

Ter Stegen has joined from Borussia Monchengladbach but with Victor Valdes and Jose Pinto both to leave Camp Nou this summer when their contracts expire, Barca want another new goalkeeper.

No deal has been done between Barca and La Real but Bravo is keen on the move. Mundo Deportivo reports the 31-year-old as saying joining the Catalans would be a new chapter for him.

“Going to Barca would be a very important step at my age,” Bravo said.

“If you give anything you should give your best, as I have done throughout my career.

“I have always started as a substitute and ended up being a starter.”

Bravo is currently preparing for the World Cup with Chile and played in the 3-2 win over Egypt on Friday.

Chile, captained by Bravo, are in Group B, with the Netherlands, Australia and Spain.
