Marquinhos to decide future soon

Barcelona target Marquinhos has said he won’t be thinking about his club future until after the Toulon tournament is over.

The Paris Saint-Germain defender is representing Brazil at the youth competition in France and the South Americans are through to the final, having topped their group.

They will meet the winners of Group A, either Portugal or France, on Saturday, and Marquinhos has told Mundo Deportivo that his focus is on that match.

But, he added, the interest of Barcelona is welcomed as it means he is doing something right with his performances.

“I’m very focused on this championship. It’s very important to me, to wear the Brazil shirt,” he said.

“This group is strong and we want to be champions.

“I always want to evolve and grow but I need to talk to my agent and PSG about my future.

“I’m pleased Barca think of me. It proves I’m doing my job on the pitch.”

The 20-year-old was asked if he would like to play with Barca’s assorted Brazilians, and he confirmed that the prospect of lining up with Neymar had its appeal.

“I’ve played with Neymar. He’s a crack,” Marquinhos said of the forward.

“I certainly hope to do so again with the national team.

“When I’ve finished this tournament I’ll speak with my agent and PSG and we will decide on my future.”
