Bravo has ‘verbal deal’ with Barca

Claudio Bravo has committed to joining Barcelona but the club haven’t yet made a deal with Real Sociedad.

The Chile goalkeeper is wanted by La Blaugrana to provide back-up to and competition for new signing Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, with Victor Valdes and Jose Pinto to leave this summer.

But while Bravo wants to move to Camp Nou, Barca and La Real haven’t reached an agreement and the Catalans don’t want to trigger the player’s €30m release clause, AS reports.

The Basques are willing to negotiate but argue that if Ter Stegen cost €12m, then the more experienced Bravo is worth no less than €15m.

That price is still too high for Barca but Cristian Tello and Jonathan Dos Santos could be added to the offer to try and sweeten the deal.

Sociedad could lose both Antoine Griezmann and Carlos Vela this summer and so Tello is a particularly attractive option, although the winger also has offers from the Premier League.

For Bravo, he has been assured that he is coming to Barca with an equal chance of starting as Ter Stegen, according to new Coach Luis Enrique.

Bravo is also keen to take what could be his last chance to play for a club of Barca’s stature, but the move is far from completed yet despite Bravo making a verbal deal with sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta.
