Del Bosque: Deulofeu a candidate

Vicente Del Bosque has said Gerard Deulofeu would be top of the list if he has to replace anyone in the Spain squad for the World Cup.

The Coach has named a 19-man squad for the May 30 game in Seville against Bolivia with 18 players from the initial 30-man group and the Barcelona winger.

No one who took part in the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will be involved and Deulofeu, who was on loan at Everton last season, has been included to help make up the numbers.

Sport reports Del Bosque as confirming Deulofeu is a player in his thoughts after his year in the Premier League.

“He is a young boy who is very good and his performances at Everton have been a very good formative step for him,” Del Bosque said.

“If we had to dip into the second team for someone because of injury, he would be one of the leading candidates. We think he is a good solution.”
