Gracia: A sad day for Osasuna

Javi Gracia admitted it was ‘a sad day’ for Osasuna as his side, despite beating Real Betis, dropped into the Segunda.

A 2-1 win over the Verdiblancos wasn’t enough for the Rojillos, as they finished the campaign in 18th place, just a point away from safety.

“It’s a very sad day for me personally and for the club,” he told a Press conference.

“I’ll always regret that we didn’t stay up. But we have to start working again now to get this club back in the Primera.

“I think an analysis of the game is pointless. We didn’t have safety in our own hands.

“There’s no point looking back. We’ve tried our very best and tried to make the best decisions possible.

“From tomorrow, we’ll consider what is best for the club.”
