Ernesto Valverde commended his Athletic Bilbao players after they rounded off what the Coach claimed was an ‘extraordinary season’.
Los Leones could only draw 0-0 with Almeria on Sunday, but the Basque outfit have finished the campaign in fourth place on 70 points.
“Our intention in the last two games was to secure fourth place and exceed 70 points,” he told a Press conference.
“That wasn’t to be, but for us, it’s been an extraordinary season. We’re happy with what we’ve done this season – it’s been amazing.
“There was a lot of tension on the pitch [because of Almeria’s relegation situation], but I thought we controlled the game and had a few clear chances.”
