Barcelona’s Lionel Messi has called on his teammates to seize their opportunity to win La Liga.
Real Madrid’s 1-1 draw against Valladolid last night means the title is back in the Catalan giants’ hands.
They still trail leaders Atletico Madrid by three points, but the Camp Nou meeting with the Rojiblancos on the season’s final day means Barca will finish top should they win their last two League matches.
“Now we are in a better position compared to in previous weeks,” Messi told reporters. “You can see that now we have a chance in the League, and it is up to us.
“We must take advantage of this moment and not allow it to get away from us.”
The Argentine was also asked about reports in the Spanish Press that Barcelona were prepared to sell him and that some of his teammates were unhappy with his work ethic.
"Lots of things have been said about me during the course of the year. Lots of nonsense has been said and virtually all of it is lies. I am fine."
