Kompany and Pogba wanted by Barca?

Barcelona are looking to add power to their team for next season and have targeted Paul Pogba and Vincent Kompany for that reason.

Mundo Deportivo claims that the Manchester City centre-back and the Juventus midfielder have been identified as two of Barca’s most wanted players following a meeting by the club’s decision makers.

Luis Enrique, the Celta Vigo Coach expected to replace Tata Martino for next year, has been made aware of the interest in the pair.

It’s said that Barca have recognised a lack of strength as a key weakness in the squad and have turned to Kompany and Pogba with that in mind.

But the signings would not be straightforward as Kompany is the City captain and under a long-term deal. Pogba, meanwhile, has a lengthy list of suitors, with Real Madrid among them, and Juve would be reluctant to let the France international go.

However, Barca hope they can exploit City’s problems with UEFA – the Premier League club is to be punished for breaching Financial Fair Play regulations.

Pogba could be available for €50-55m and is represented by Mino Raiola, who is known at Barca as the agent of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
