Tello on brink of Barca exit

Cristian Tello is said to be heading for the Barcelona exit this summer unless the club’s new Coach specifically asks for his retention.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Tello was a likely candidate to leave Camp Nou at the end of the season after playing only a bit part role in this campaign, but a spat with Tata Martino has made his departure even more likely.

Tello was brought on as an injury time replacement for Pedro in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Getafe and it is claimed that he questioned the wisdom of bringing him on so late in the game.

Barca feel that the Coach is the highest authority for tactical and team decisions and should never be questioned, leaving Tello with little future at the club.

It’s said that if Martino’s replacement intervenes Tello could stay at the club but otherwise, the winger will be free to leave.

Tello has previously been linked with the likes of Liverpool, Napoli, Valencia and Porto and Barca refused to sell him to the Reds in January.

The player himself has previously suggested he would leave Barca if he didn’t become a regular in the side and has made only six starting appearances this season.
