Gracia: Early goal complicated things

Javi Gracia has lamented Cristiano Ronaldo’s opening goal as Osasuna fell to a 4-0 defeat against Real Madrid.

Ronaldo netted after seven minutes and added a second seven minutes into the second-half, with Sergio Ramos and Dani Carvajal also netting for Los Blancos.

Marca reports that after the match, Gracia told a Press conference that Ronaldo’s early strike ruined his side’s game plan.

“We came with good intentions and knowing we needed to score, and that this was the most difficult of our remaining four games, away from home against a team playing for the League,” the Coach said.

“We went into the match well, trying to do the right things, but the early goal made things much more complicated.

“It was a goal, a golazo, like the second.

“Two big goals at the beginning of the halves meant we found it very difficult to turn the game around.

“We’ve tried to prevent a disaster and have a dignified end to the game. We move on to think about the next one now.

“I only think of our games. It’s tiring to think of others. I focus on our 90 minutes.

“We have three games to win the points we need to stay up, with two home games. Focusing on us is best.”
