Bartomeu: We’re feeling empty

Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu has admitted everyone at the club has been left ‘feeling empty’ after Tito Vilanova’s death.

The former Coach passed away on Friday afternoon after losing his lengthy battle with cancer. He died aged 45.

And the leader of the Camp Nou side has led tributes to the tactician, claiming that the Catalan giants ‘gained a touchstone’ whilst he was in charge.

“It’s a very sad day. We knew it could happen and it’s been a long illness, but it has left us all feeling very empty,” he told their official website.

“Tito was a great man and a reference point for the club and its supporters.

“He’s been an example to us and we have all learnt a lot from him as a person.

“We will miss him terribly.

“A man has died, but we have gained a touchstone, a great figure.”
