Howard Webb has been named as the referee for Real Madrid’s Champions League semi-final first-leg against Bayern Munich.
The game takes place on Wednesday and Webb, who officiated the 2010 World Cup final that saw Spain defeat the Netherlands, will take the whistle.
Webb previously officiated the 2010 Champions League final that saw Inter beat Bayern at Santiago Bernabeu, and La Roja’s first game at the 2010 World Cup, in which Spain were beaten by Switzerland.
This season Webb has taken charge of Madrid’s 2-2 draw with Juventus in the Champions League group stage and the 6-1 win over Schalke in Germany in the Round of 16 first-leg.
Webb was also the referee for the 2010 Champions League semi-final between Madrid and Bayern at the Allianz Arena, a match that ended 2-1 to the home side.
