Carles Puyol has told Tata Martino he will play in the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid if Marc Bartra’s injury doesn’t heal in time.
AS says Bartra is a major doubt for Wednesday’s game at Valencia’s Mestalla, with the centre-back suffering from a hamstring injury.
Gerard Pique is also unavailable after cracking his pelvis in the Champions League game against Atletico Madrid and against Granada on Saturday, Martino named Sergio Busquets and Javier Mascherano in defence in a 1-0 defeat.
Puyol hasn’t featured since March 2, a 4-1 win over Almeria, and has announced he is leaving the club this summer, but has reportedly told Martino he will be able to play against Los Blancos if needed.
