Costa ‘wanted’ Sevilla semi

Valencia defender Ricardo Costa has revealed that he ‘wanted’ to be drawn with Sevilla in the Europa League.

Los Che were given a semi-final against their Liga rivals, and the centre-back has admitted that he couldn’t be happier.

“I wanted us to face Sevilla because we can beat them and get to the final, where I would like to meet [SL] Benfica,” he told uefa.com.

“That said, I ideally wanted [my former side] FC Porto to get through.

“We now have a big task, which is to get past Sevilla, who have a great Coach and a great squad of players – including their goalkeeper [Beto], who is a friend of mine.”
