Ronaldo a doubt for Dortmund

Cristiano Ronaldo is unlikely to play for Real Madrid when they take on Borussia Dortmund this evening.

Los Blancos go to Signal Iduna Park for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final, holding a 3-0 advantage.

But they are to do so without the Portugal international, who left training 20 minutes in on Monday complaining of knee trouble.

The Ballon d’Or winner was rested for Madrid’s 4-0 win over Real Sociedad at the weekend, but that was initially seen as just a precaution.

However, after his left knee flared up again, it looks as if Ronaldo will sit out the European Cup clash tonight.

Carlo Ancelotti is now expected to keep Isco in the side, playing up front with Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale.
