Pedro: We lacked intensity

Pedro claimed that Barcelona ‘lacked intensity’ in their win over Real Betis on Saturday, but wants all focus to turn to the Champions League.

The Blaugrana were laboured in their 3-1 win against the Verdiblancos at Camp Nou yesterday, and the forward conceded that with European commitments his side may have suffered.

“They know what they want,” he told reporters.

“Maybe we lacked a little intensity in the second half, but we're happy with the win. In the second half we failed to dominate and keep the ball for longer periods.

“They played well and made it difficult for us. The best thing was the result.

“It will be tough all the way until the end of the season. There is no real margin for error.

“Every game is like a cup final now. It will be tough. We're going through a tough time, but we're trying to stay isolated and focus on the games.

“We're just keeping our minds on the games. We're not worried and we're taking it a game at a time.”

The striker then turned his attention to the Atletico Madrid match on Wednesday.

“Costa is an excellent player. If he doesn't make it back from his injury, that will be good for us.

“If he's there, he will be dangerous, but the same goes for any other player. Atlético have a good squad and it will be a tough game.

“We'll go out looking to win. We know what's at stake. We know that all of the games that we have left are going to be very tough and we need to play with more drive and not let things slip.”
