Scolari: Costa is Del Boque’s problem

Brazil Coach Felipe Scolari has said he isn’t concerned with Diego Costa’s injury as the Atletico Madrid forward isn’t his problem now.

Costa had to be withdrawn partway through Atletico’s 1-1 draw with Barcelona on Tuesday in the Champions League and Scolari was among those present.

It was reported in Spain that Scolari was seated a few rows away from his Spain counterpart Vicente Del Bosque and speaking to reporters after the match, Scolari offered no thoughts on Costa, who switched allegiances to Spain after playing twice for Brazil under Scolari.

“It was the player’s decision to choose Spain and we have to respect it,” Scolari said.

“He’s Del Bosque’s problem now.”

There were a number of Brazil international on display in the game with Scolari speaking mostly about Neymar, who scored Barca’s goal.

“I came to watch him and Dani Alves, Filipe Luis, Adriano…” Scolari explained.

“This can be Neymar’s World Cup, we can be sure of that.

“He hasn’t shone at Barca because they play differently. He’s better when he has space but they have him playing on the right.

“The Spanish Press has one opinion about Neymar and the Brazilian Press has another.

“For the national team he’s a special player and plays in a different way to how he does here.”
