Arrasate: That was a close one

Jagoba Arrasate believes Real Sociedad were made to work as hard as ever by Real Valladolid as they took a narrow 1-0 win.

Carlos Vela scored the only goal of the game and Arrasate added at his post-match Press conference that La Real’s inability to get a second meant the visitors were in the game until the very end.

“We didn’t play too bad and we did damage going forward, but we didn’t have much of the ball,” the Coach said.

“And we didn’t take our chances to get a second goal. We allowed Valladolid to stay in the game and even though they didn’t have many chances, the result was up in the air until the very end.”

Arrasate added that he was pleased to see his side get back on track after losing 4-3 to Almeria, and was equally pleased they won without conceding.

“It was important for us to win. It was a difficult game to get into and it’s true it wasn’t a very good game, but we won,” Arrasate continued.

“It was important to recover over defensive strength. We need to put more polish on our game, while still getting good results.”
