Calderon not fazed by adversity

Gabriel Calderon has said he won’t let Real Betis’ perilous situation affect him as he is used to going through tough times.

Los Verdiblancos remain rooted to the bottom of La Liga, 10 points from safety with nine games to go.

They play Levante on Thursday and speaking at a pre-match Press conference, Calderon insisted Betis will approach each game in the right way.

“We’re aware of the situation we’re in but I still keep thinking one game at a time,” he told reporters.

“I treat each game like it’s the last one I’ll play. If we’re to win on Thursday we need to keep doing the right things.

“I’m used to overcoming adversity in life and I’m happy with how the team is working.

“We know a lot about Levante and they’re a good representation of [Joaquin Caparros].

“He’s a great Coach and he’s getting a lot out of his team. For him, playing Betis is special motivation.”
