Cosmin Contra believes Getafe are getting better all the time and can still avoid the drop this season.
The Madrid side host Villarreal on Thursday but are without a win in their last 14 games.
Contra told his pre-match Press conference that there were positive signs in their last outing, against Athletic Bilbao, and that home form would be crucial.
“The players took another step forward at San Mames. Even though we didn’t get the points, we were competitive,” Contra said.
“We gave a good account of ourselves at the fourth-placed team in La Liga. We are showing signs of improving after every game.
“We have four home games left and we can beat all of our opponents there. All we need is a win, to calm everyone down.
“[Villarreal] is another opportunity for us. With the backing of our fans, we can do it.
“The Coliseum needs to be our fortress. We’ve got more to play for than Villarreal and we have to show that in our approach.”
