Alcaraz rues weak attack

Lucas Alcaraz believes that if Granada had a more powerful attack they would have got something from Atletico Madrid.

As it was Atleti ran out 1-0 winners with a Diego Costa goal just past the hour mark, taking the three points that enabled them to move clear at the top of the table.

Real Madrid’s defeat means Atletico are out on their own in first place, with Barcelona second and Los Blancos third.

But Alcaraz was only concerned with his side at his post-match Press conference and believes Granada weren’t far off getting a result.

“There were a number of points in the game where we’ve done well but we lacked penetration,” the Coach told reporters.

“It’s very difficult to press here but we’ve won a lot of challenges.

“We were very good in the first half but we lacked precision in the second and needed more penetration in the final third.

“Atletico take you to your limit with challenges and contact. We tried to keep the ball but they make it difficult here.”
