Sevilla rejected PL Moreno bid

Sevilla President Jose Castro has revealed the club rejected an offer from a Premier League club for Alberto Moreno.

Castro didn’t name the interested party in his interview with Onda Cero, but title challengers Liverpool are believed to hold interest in the left-back and are thought to be the bidding team.

Moreno has also been linked with Real Madrid, while the 21-year-old has been mentioned as a possible member of the Spain World Cup squad for this summer.

The offer came in December, prior to the winter transfer window.

Castro was also asked about the futures of captain Ivan Rakitic and Coach Unai Emery.

“I see Rakitic at Sevilla next season. He’s happy here and the fans love him,” Castro predicted.

“I don’t have any problem with Emery carrying on next season with us,” he continued.

“We’ve been talking with him for a while now. He’ll stay next season.”
