La Liga clubs await European draws

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Valencia and Sevilla will learn their next European opponents today.

The Madrid clubs and Barca are through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League while Valencia and Sevilla have reached the same stage of the Europa League.

Barca dispatched Manchester City, Real Madrid hammered Schalke and Atletico got past Milan to reach this point of the tournament.

The other teams in the pot are Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain.

There is no country protection for the quarter final draw so two of Spain’s teams could face each other.

In the Europa League Valencia beat Ludogorets 4-0 on aggregate while Sevilla needed penalties to beat Real Betis after a 2-2 draw.

They are joined by Benfica, Porto, Juventus, Lyon, AZ Alkmaar and Basel.

As in the Champions League, it is an open draw so Sevilla and Valencia could be paired together.

Europa League ties will be played on April 3 and April 10, with the draw taking place at 12:00 UK time.

Champions League games will be held over April 1 and 2 and April 8 and 9. The draw begins at 11:00 UK time.
