Maxwell: I love Barca

Former Barcelona defender Maxwell has spoken of his love for both the club and the city.

Maxwell left Camp Nou for Paris Saint-Germain in 2012 after three years and 89 appearances for La Blaugrana, winning two League titles, one Champions League and two FIFA Club World Cups, as well as a smattering of other trophies.

The 32-year-old told Marca that he still watches Barca closely, and while the current side isn’t the same as the one of which he was part, he is nevertheless impressed.

“The results aren’t like before but Barca are true to their style and very competitive,” Maxwell said.

“I will always remember that amazing team.

“I love everything about Barcelona – the city, the club, the coaches, the players.”

Maxwell was also asked about Neymar’s first half-season at Barca and he revealed he was impressed by his compatriot.

“Neymar has had some great games,” Maxwell replied.

“I hope he is able to get back to form after his injury. He has magic feet.”
