Ancelotti confirms Khedira return date

Real Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti has said Sami Khedira will return to full training in ’15 or 20 days’.

Khedira has been missing since suffering a serious knee injury in November, while playing for Germany.

He has been attempting to regain fitness in Germany and Ancelotti said at a Press conference that the formation change he employed wasn’t as a result of Khedira’s absence.

“That isn’t thanks to the fact that Khedira isn’t here,” Ancelotti said.

“He’s a player this team needs, because he’s very important.

“His recovery work is going very well. He has started running after three and a half months,” Ancelotti continued.

“Everything is going well and I think that in 15 or 20 days he can be in Madrid working with the team. We hope he can play before the end of the season.”

Ancelotti added that he already has a tough time picking a midfield from all of his available options, and it will only get more difficult when the 26-year-old returns.

“Making a decision without Khedira isn’t easy. With Khedira it’ll be even harder,” Ancelotti predicted.
