Barca issue new Neymar denial

Barcelona have reiterated their stance that there was no wrongdoing in the signing of Neymar.

Fresh allegations surfaced in the Spanish Press this week relating to the tax arrangements of the transfer, but Barca have released a statement rejecting all accusations.

“In light of reports appearing in [Wednesday's] press concerning the transfer process carried out to bring Neymar to Barcelona, the club would like to state:

“The club's dealings with respect to this operation, and in light of all information available, was at all times in line with the relevant legal legislation.

“Represented by its lawyers, the club will appear at the Jutjat Central d'Instruccio number 5 within the next few days in order to defend its interests and rights.

“We express our total willingness to collaborate with the Justice authorities in this matter, as we have done since the first moment the issue arose and in any other area in which our presence may be required.”

Sandro Rosell resigned as Barca President in the wake of the case brought by club member Jordi Cases, who alleged Barca did not reveal the full amount paid to Santos for Neymar. Barca insist Neymar cost €57m.
